Way back in 1998, a few house wives decided to initiate a welfare activity programme, under the name and style of “ASK” Social Services. The aim was to attend the unattended poor patients, undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Lahore, by trying to rehabilitate them psychologically through counseling, and also provide some material support.
The programme soon gained momentum and the spectrum of activities enlarged. Medical Camps, Anti Polio Vaccination Programmes etc were organized, to provide free treatment and related medical services, to the poor and needy. Besides; during the holy month of Ramadan, a special programme was launched, to distribute Clothes, Food, and other essential items, among the poor, and people belonging to the low income group, residing in the slums of Badami Bagh area of Lahore.
