Government Islamia College Civil Lines Lahore was established in 1892 by Anjuman-i-Hamayat-i-Islam to provide the education to the Muslims of Northern part of Sub-continent.

The college was established at Railway Road Lahore and later some bachelor classes were shifted to the new building at Civil Lines and after sometime it became an independent college. It is a dynamic institute which has produced many greats in every field of life.
